Independence Day - CNN lol + Hot Dog Contest

Ok I'm not sure what to say about the 2nd best untainted-by-hallmark holiday on earth... but CNN made a funny boo-boo.

I'm paraphrasing or whatever.

"Someone's celebrating their independence day more than anyone today... a BBC news reporter released recently after 114 days in captivity is headed home and being visited by relatives in BBC news headquarters."

This guy is British and CNN is saying he'll be celebrating America's independence day. I lolled. IN YOUR FACE IMPERIAL BRITAIN! SUCK AMERICAN INDEPENDENCE! You ain't gettin' this huge piece of fiiiiine land!

London Carbombs-Scotland Airport Attack

*peeks out from under covers*

Luckily whoever the people were that made these attacks were not that good at it. Good ol' reliable Scottish and British Police forces too.

But I don't really have much to say on it. Everything worked decently for us. Hopefully there won't be any more scares for a while.

I think though the idea of terrorism is losing it's effectiveness. If they attack inside a country like they did yesterday, they won't be able to cripple the nation. After a little panic they will rally together and fight back just as the United States did.

And how can you top 9.11 even? Terrorism is kind of like the entertainment industry.(lol I went there). You need to keep topping what you did before or else you'll get dull.

It'll take a physically united and organized force to be able to really get any western super power to submit to anything. Not a couple scattered attempts, separated months and months apart as we see here.

I hope the real Muslims will be able to prevent any too powerful terrorist union from forming.

The longer the United States continues down its path, we run the risk of further igniting a stronger terrorist movement. A single nation can't defeat an ideology with war.

Jesus takes hits from Bongs

JESUS CHRIST PARTICIPATES IN AND CONDONES THE RECREATIONAL USE OF HALLUCINOGENS!

Why can't the world just lighten up? All of these official statements and reputations of legal entities... it clouds natural sense.

The student isn't part of the faculty, he isn't representing the schools stance. Therefor the school's reputation is safe as long as the Principal express his and the schools stance on drug control. The student was not passing out drugs. One could even argue that it wasn't a promotion of drugs. It didn't say to take drugs, all it said really was Jesus likes hit. It's blasphemy against a faith if anything.

Now in all honesty, it isn't hard to imagine wanting to punish a kid for something like this. If we all sit down and think we can take it as promoting drug use. It is offensive to a lot of people. However, the Supreme Court's decision is solid without any variance. And after all, the entire student body recognizes it as a joke. Whether stupid or funny... a joke.

Now any student can be suspended for simply making a statement that can be interpreted to promote drug use. This of course, if cleverly argued, can be extended and applied to any other kind of speech that promotes the seemingly negative aspects of our society. I wish the Supreme Court could have narrowed their words a little more and not have made this broad ruling.

I'm sure a lot more punishment in schools will come from this ruling, it will be abused by the over serious, up-tight, suck up government employees that make up our flawed school system not only in education, but in the fair treatment of students in any sort of conflict.

They just make decisions, they don't think or have any concern for whether they punishing too hard, punishing only one guilty person, an innocent, or simply letting their personal biases and grudges get to themselves. They make no effort to investigate. It's only promoting their 'structured environment.'

Why can't people get away from their official statements, their podiums, their suits, greased hair, and just be people?

lil' Cheney

So I was watching MSNBC(The forgotten news network). Counterdown w/ Keith Olbermann was on and #5 on the list was "Private Dick". Now I don't know if they ment a pun on Private Investigator or Penis, but the title was funny still. They later in the show made a testicle joke on an unrelated topic. "Family Jewels" somehow works it's way into something about the CIA.

But in the "Private Dick" thing. They were talking about the scandle with Dick Cheney being asked to reveal the number of documents he is keeping secret. He, being good ol' Cheney, refuses. He says that because is has jobs both in the Legislative and Executive branch, that he is in a unique enough position not to have to obey by the order given to him. This of course is stupid and unlawful, but Cheney of course is not going to give in and no one in Washington has the guts to do anything about it quickly... even though Cheney is completely wrong.

But while talking about this... they had this little clip that C-Span caught. I hope you guys feel the same confusing mess of emotions I did when I saw this.

Maybe I'll edit this with more jazz another time.
