Fool me once, shame on you
Lying, cheating, hurting, stealing.
A conscious choice was made,
with or without any debts paid.
Fool me twice, shame on me
The careful man is never hurt
Steps lightly around what he does not know
Making sure not to let any new wounds grow.
Never be fooled again.
But still know strongly, regret,
from what he didn't do or say,
Living only with that, day to day.
Still holding up his guard, without a spoken complaint.

What I need is a good defense
'Cause I'm feeling like a criminal.
But, heh thanks. I think I did decently with this poem.
